Review of last week's film ("Like Father, Like Son", 5 stars)
Steven says: It is so easy to get lost in the story of a Kore-eda film. This one is no different. Great script, great acting, beautiful camera work, many touching scenes. What's not to like?

Review of previous film ("Fill the Void", 4 stars)
Steven says: This is a beautiful film that shines a bright light on an orthodox Jewish community, its traditions, and its reaction to a tragic event. You'll learn a lot about this religious community from the inside. And you'll wonder how someone can make such difficult and dutiful decisions.

Review of last week's film ("The Past", 4 stars)
Steven says: Asghar Farhadi has mastered films that tell realistic and deliberate stories. He understands that life is complicated, and none of his characters in "The Past" is spared chaos or mistrust. He does a wonderful job of incorporating the set into the story line, reflecting emotions and realities among inanimate objects. I can't wait to see what he does next.
